It's a great location Jess - and yes thankfully we have the back space as well as the front - I have conducted ceremonies inside as well - upstairs on the balcony and in the very front room.
I recently did a wedding at the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, on the BACK lawns of Garden House. The reason I highlight the use of the back lawn is that they generally hold ceremonies in the more open space of the front lawn (which is also lovely.) But the advantage of using the back lawn was that is was much more shaded for a day of heat (36 degrees) so the guests and bridal party were more comfortable/cooler. Another advantage was that it was more private which suited the nervous groom! It was a beautiful space- intimate, relaxed and cool.
