Elopements - do they differ from a normal wedding?

How do elopements differ and what's important for a couple who are eloping?

I think an Elopement often differs greatly because of the sometimes limited time we have to prepare with the couple. And also they often only have a small number of people present, so writing a long ceremony about the couple is often not required
